Support Worker - Day Centre for Adults with disabilities
Carers Choices, Benfleet

Our Day Centre for Adults with Disabilities is growing and we are looking to recruit a new member to our staff team. We are looking for someone to join us 3-4 days a week Monday to Friday 9.30am to 3.30pm. Occasional evening and weekend work is also part of this role.  

We are looking for someone with a good sense of humour who is committed, hard working, flexible and sociable. You will need to be able to work well under pressure and be calm and collected in a crisis. A full driving license is required. Previous experience of special needs is essential.

Key duties include:

  • Socialising with Clients
  • Assisting Clients with Activities.
  • Assisting Clients with Lunch
  • Assisting Clients with personal care
  • Taking Clients out in the community
  • Administering emergency First Aid

Pay rates range from £8.00 an hour to £8.48 an hour for those over 25 but will be dependant on experience. Pay rates for those under 25 available on request.

Young Carers Co-ordinator

Carers Choices are currently recruiting a Young Carers Co-ordinator for 25 hours per week which includes Monday and Tuesday evenings. Main responsibilities are:

  • To be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of a programme of activities for Young Carers (8-18 years) across the Castle Point and Basildon districts including managing a team of paid staff and volunteers.

  • To provide support and information for Young Carers

  • To develop relationships with schools and other services in supporting the identification of Young Carers and provision of support

  • To further the aims of the charity by contributing to organisation-wide activities such as events, fundraising etc.
